I am a current University of Portsmouth Fashion and textiles student in my third year with a grade average of a 2:1. I am also extremely focused, reliable and able to work well under pressure alone and as part of a team. I have good understanding and patience when communicating learnt through working with and helping people of all ages, abilities and nationalities.

Work Experience:

2 weeks work experience at The Wedding workshop, at the start of the fortnight I was mostly in charge of hand sewing, covering buttons, and other basic tasks. Towards the end of my time there I was put in charge of cutting, making veils and helping to machine sew flower girl dresses.

 

1 week work experience at University of Bedfordshire HR department, helping to plan and run a conference. This involved the organisation of packs, contacting attendees and aiding with the running of the day. Which helped me develop good interpersonal skills and teamwork skills.

 

2 weeks volunteering with Diverbo, this was based in southern Spain and involved teaching Spanish teenagers the English language through conversation, games and activities. From this experience I learned to be patient and understanding of others, and also a lot of independence.

 

Girl Guiding Young Leader 2009-present. In this role I am given the responsibility to plan and run creative and physical activities. I am also there to talk to the girls and help them with any issues in their personal lives. Through this I can work well with people of all ages, running activities help me to gain self-confidence for speaking to large groups.

 

Boots November 2012-Present (Sales Assistant)

Originally employed as Christmas staff but kept on and trained in No7 Makeup, Fragrance and the photograph department. This role involves conversing and helping customers to find the products they are looking for, it also involves serving customers and operating the till.
